It's Not Braggin If Our Customer's Say It

"I drive my Mercedes over 150 miles for service at MPH. That's how good I think they are. That's how much I love my car."

Gary Bartley (Past President) - Mercedes Benz Club of America - Houston Section

Subject: Braggin For MPH Automotive Svcs.

I have been bringing my two older model Mercedes (87 190 and 94 E420) and other company cars to MPH since 1992. What I like the most about MPH is that they are honest professionals who put the interests of the client first. At MPH, they tell you and show you what the problem is, and then offer solutions.

If you want to do it yourself, if Todd cannot find, or does not already have, the part, then it does not exist. When you get stuck, Mike and Guy just grin and good-naturedly tell you what they would have done and offer helpful advice.

If you want MPH to do the work, there are never any surprises - they tell you what to expect first and then call you during the work if something else needs to be done. It has been my happy experience that MPH doesn't believe in changing parts to make a repair unless that is the only cost-effective solution, in which case they only install MB OEM parts. If there is more than one way to do a job, they will volunteer the information and then guide you to a solution which is safe, affordable and effective. They are very down-to-earth people, who treat you like you wish everyone would treat you - honestly, with great skill and with that intangible personal touch that conveys the fact that they value your business, know who you are and intend to earn your future business by the ongoing quality and honesty of their work. You never wonder whether something needed to be repaired now, or could it have waited, because they tell you before they start, or as they go through the job and let you decide. Skilled labor does not come cheap and rightly so, but skilled labor is also very productive and MPH get an awful lot done in their working time..

MPH are true professionals. They have a first-class workshop as good as any Mercedes dealer in Houston. They have all the technical data, tools, skills and training needed to do the work. Watching them first diagnose and then repair something makes it look easy. On one occasion I came to them because I could smell gasoline, but did not know where the leak was. Mike took one look, stopped what he was doing and pulled the car into the workshop, where he replaced the fuel pressure regulator which had a ruptured diaphragm. There was no question of my leaving in that car in that condition, saving me from a potential fire and total loss. On another occasion, the same car was towed in with what was correctly diagnosed to be a failed fuel pump; I was asked if I wanted to replace the second pump at the same time and then Guy repaired my car while I waited. I had already spent a long time waiting beside the freeway when the car broke down and the fact that they made a big effort and repaired the car without an appointment, made me feel really good. When I bought the E420, I wanted daylight running lights - Mike found the (Canadian) option, ordered it from Germany and installed it. MPH also do the best wheel balancing and steering alignment in Houston, period.

It is experiences like these that breed loyalty - I would not even consider taking my cars anywhere else and recommend them without hesitation to anyone else who wants the best with a personal touch!

Subject: Commitment to Service Quality

Would recommend MPH Automotive to anyone seeking service work on their Mercedes Benz in the Houston area. I have two diesels: an '82 300D Turbo & '93 300D 2.5 Turbo and have received recent service work on both automobiles at MPH. The work performed has exceeded my expectations. I have personally met and spoken with Mike and Todd Haven and they certainly understand these automobiles. Guy Haven performed the service work and repairs on the '93 and he did an excellent job.
Recently received a follow-up call from Todd after work had been performed. This is consistent with what is written in the subject line - commitment. Great organization!

Professional Services

Mike, many times businesses do not hear from their customers until something goes wrong.  Customers should expect every business establishment to perform as advertise, however, not all goes as planned.  There could be many reasons for the underperformance from products used, misinformation, or just poor workmanship.  I must say, as a long-time customer of MPH I have rarely experienced any of the aforementioned.  As such, I would like to take this time to thank you and your staff for taking care of my family's automotive repair needs over the years.  Your approach to providing automotive care is the most professional I have seen.  Bringing my cars to MPH is the same as going to a physician.  From the front office, to the diagnosis, to the repair, all is done in a clean, friendly, professional and efficient manner.  Knowing you Mike, I know you wouldn't compromise or settle for less.  You have managed to remain competent and ahead of the technological changes in automotive repair. I feel every automotive shop in Houston could learn from how MPH is operated.  I have no reservation in recommending MPH to anyone who cares about having their cars repaired.  If they want it fixed, I would suggest they take it to the corner gas station, but it they want it repaired, maintained and safely operating, I highly suggest MPH.  I cannot adequately express my gratitude for the services you have provided to me, but I am glad you are there.

I have been taking my cars to MPH for over 18 years now.  Mike has seen me grow up through my long list of different cars I have owned in that time.  I have come to him with a complete range of problems over the years and it's sometimes almost painful to remember.  Some have been so vague, "there's something vibrating in the front end, but only at 80 mph and only on a slight left bend", while others have been more specific, "Mike, I put the car in drive, and it doesn't go anywhere".  As always, Mike or Todd or even Guy always have something funny to say about it.  Funny to them anyways.

On a more serious note though, I can't find enough good things to say about MPH.  I drive 40 miles roundtrip from downtown anytime I need something as simple as an oil change.  The reason for this is that MPH is one of the few businesses that still takes immense pride in their work and will sign off on it as something they fixed.  I have trusted Mike and everyone else at MPH to repair my car and keep it running well for so long now, I don't even think about it anymore.  It's just a constant.  You will not be sent off into the concrete jungle of Houston with a car that someone "thinks" is fixed, like at many other parts changer, fix - it - quick shops.  If your car comes out of Mike's shop for anything, you can bet it will be fixed, and fixed right.  That's because Mike is one of those few crazy people who thinks there is only one way to do things, THE RIGHT WAY.  You do remember what that is don't you?  If not, stop by MPH sometime and get a dose of honest reliable automobile service.

Thanks for all the years of service Mike, Todd and Guy!
